From 1984 until 1988, I studied special education with music and art at the University of Cologne.
1988 to 1990, I led the short films department of the Filmhaus Köln in Cologne, Germany.
In 1990, I became student of the video and film class of professor Nan Hoover and Nam June Paik at the Düsseldorf Art Academy.
1992, I was accepted into the program of the post-academic Jan van Eyck Academie (NL). Numerous international art grants and stipenda followed.
2011, I certified as a drama therapist, in 2012 as a practitioner in psychotherapy (Heilpraktiker Psychotherapie), in 2012 as Dramatherapy-informed supervisor, in 2016 I gained my M.A. in Art and Theatre in Social Fields, in 2023 my certificate as Trauma Prevention trainer.
I completed several further trainings in drama therapy methods, trauma prevention and trauma-informed dramatherapy.
My focus is on transgenerational transmission and narratives.
From 2014 until 2018, I facilitated and led together with the drama therapist Armand Volkas, a son of Auschwitz survivor, workshops within his “Healing the Wounds of History” in the USA and in Poland.
In October 2020, I co-founded the Research Institute for Theatre Therapy (R-ITT) whose director I’ve been until October 2025.
From 2012 on, I developed a dramatherapy based coaching method for filmmakers, script-writers and authors under the name ‘Film-Aufstellen’
