In 1979, while still at school, I started participating in the independent Theatre TAM in Krefeld as actor, assistant director and staff member.
From 1984 until 1988, I studied special education with music and art at the University of Cologne.
1988 to 1990, I led the short film department of the Filmhaus Köln in Cologne, Germany.
In 1990, I became student of the video and film class of professor Nan Hoover and Nam June Paik at the Düsseldorf Art Academy.
1992, I was accepted into the program of the post-academic Jan van Eyck Academie (NL). Numerous international art exhibitions, projects, grants and stipenda followed; see more here and here.
2011, I certified as a drama therapist, in 2012 as a practitioner in psychotherapy (Heilpraktiker Psychotherapie), in 2012 as Dramatherapy-informed supervisor, in 2016 I gained my M.A. in Art and Theatre in Social Fields, in 2023 my certificate as Trauma Prevention trainer.
I completed several further trainings in drama therapy methods, trauma prevention and trauma-informed dramatherapy.
My focus is on transgenerational transmission and narratives.
From 2014 until 2018, I facilitated and led together with the drama therapist Armand Volkas, a son of Auschwitz survivor, workshops within his “Healing the Wounds of History” in the USA and in Poland.
In the same period, I realized the art project “Now Here” in the public space of San Francisco and co-created two participatory film projects in a juvenile prison in Germany.
From 2016 until begin 2021, I also worked as research advisor and lecturer in the Arts Therapies department at Alanus University in Alfter, Germany.
From 2021 until 2022, I worked in Belgium as a drama therapist in a collaborative team to establish a new trauma center for young refugees with multiple disorders caused by their flight.
In October 2020, I co-founded the Research Institute for Theatre Therapy (R-ITT).
From 2012 on, I developed a dramatherapy based coaching method for filmmakers, script-writers and authors under the name ‘Film-Aufstellen’
