ABOUT ME
ÜBER MICH
about me
I have been working as an artist since 1988, in documentary film since 1998, as a drama therapist since 2011 and as a coach since 2012.
My focus lies in transgenerational transmission and trauma.
I have collaborated with the drama therapist Armand Volkas, son of Auschwitz survivors and resistance fighters, on several projects, including co-leading workshops on the legacy of the Third Reich and the Second World War.
I am currently working on a film essay about my family's legacy.
From 2013 until 2021, I provided services as a tutor at Alanus University and as a coach to ProPeace/ZfD, GIZ and several filmmakers using my “Film-Aufstellen” method.
I have worked as a drama therapist in a clinical setting and in private practice, as well as being a trauma prevention trainer for the ARQ Trauma Centre 45 (Netherlands) and a coach for the ProPeace/ZfD Forum and GIZ civic peace services.
I was also a board member of the Scientific Research Association for Arts Therapies (WFKT Germany) and the Dutch Dramatherapy Association (NVDT) from 2019 to 2022.
From October 2021 until October 2025, I am the co-founder and director of the Research Institute for Theatre Therapy (R-ITT) in Germany.
I studied Fine Arts at the Art Academy Düsseldorf and the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht from 1990 to 1994. I completed an M.A. in Art and Theatre in Social Contexts at the HKS University Ottersberg from 2015 to 2016 and a degree in Special Education at the University of Cologne from 1984 to 1988. I participated as an actor and co-director in the TAM Theatre in Krefeld for a period of ten years. I undertook dramatherapy training at the Institut für Theatertherapie from 2011.
